The new school year usually starts up after the summer break. You may be going to school for the first time, or perhaps to a different classroom with a new teacher. In our story, Flora is going to school for the first time. You can hear what her family does to make her first day go smoothly.

We have a song composed by my friend Linda called “I Can’t Wait” and it’s all about going to school. Were you excited for the first day of school? Did you have a backpack or a new lunchbox to take along? Then after the story, we have the ABC song. I expect you know that one, so don’t forget to sing along.
